Louis Vuitton data breach affects customers in the UK, South Korea, Turkey, and possibly more countries, with notifications underway.

Customers of French luxury retailer Louis Vuitton are being notified of a data breach affecting multiple countries, including the UK, South Korea, and Turkey.

The security breach was discovered on July 2nd, 2025, and exposed customer personal information, including names and contact details, but the company confirmed that passwords, payment card data, and other financial information were not compromised. The incident may have impacted customers in other countries as notifications continue.

Last week the company disclosed that data of some UK customers had been stolen, threat actors had accessed its UK operation’s systems and obtained information such as names, contact details and purchase history. The brand also said its Korean operation had suffered a similar cyberattack

“While we have no evidence that your data has been misused to date, phishing attempts, fraud attempts, or unauthorised use of your information may occur,” reads the email sent to the impacted customers, as per The Guardian.

The company, owned by the French luxury group LVMH, notified authorities, including the Information Commissioner’s Office. This marks the third breach of LVMH’s systems in three months.

Attackers accessed Louis Vuitton’s systems nearly a month before detection. Security Week reported that in Turkey, around 143,000 residents were affected. According to the report, the security breach may be linked to a third-party service provider account.

At this time, the company has not provided technical details about the attack; however, public information about the breach suggests it was a ransomware attack, although no ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Recently, another luxury brand, Cartier, disclosed a data breach following a cyberattack that compromised its systems, exposing customers’ personal information. The incident comes amid a wave of cyberattacks targeting luxury fashion brands.
